Civic Center Needs Assessment
The City of Suffolk, Virginia requested DJG to prepare a neighborhood assessment report for the existing streets around a new Civic Center/ Performing Arts Center building which is currently under construction.
- DJG provided the Authority with a survey evaluating the current conditions of each existing property including recommendations for each property and street to be incorporated into a new design for the neighborhood.
- The recommendations included context of each structure within the streetscape, the overall presence of each streetscape within the neighborhood as well as the baseline physical condition of the structures and properties.
- The final report included global overviews and recommendations of the neighborhood conditions, maps and written descriptions as well as photo documented conditions of the streets and individual properties within the neighborhood.
- Digital database files and digital presentation files to be used for distribution during the planning phase of the project were also included with the physical documentation.
