Sylvia Brown Apartments Site Lighting Upgrades

• DJG was commissioned by the Authority to design improvements to the lighting at Sylvia Brown Apartments.

• DJG added and modifyed the existing exterior lighting to better distribute lighting of the overall site.

• DJG engineers conducted a site visit to evaluate the location of existing lighting as well as take current foot-candle readings. 

• Based on findings, recommendations were made for locations of new pole-mounted lighting fixtures, as the Client did not want any additional building-mounted lighting.

• Design included demolition of nine existing light poles and installation of 22 new pole-mounted lighting fixtures. The existing electrical service was re-worked to provide capacity for site lighting upgrades.

• Final plans were reviewed and approved by the City of Williamsburg’s planning department and fire department.
